octet Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Home_and_Garden/Windows/ First time submited in october/november 2003, then again december/january 2003. Can't remember exactly. 2 submissions. Could you please advice about status. Regads, Adrian
yapuka Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Hello, Sorry to say that I can't find your site awaiting review in that category, nor could I find any evidence of an editor having ever reviewed that site. You should therefore suggest it again. You can ask for a status check in one month.
Guest Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Since you don't sell remotely (you need to have a product catalogue and prices, and a way to order remotely) Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Home_and_Garden/Windows is not the proper category. Please read the category description at http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Home_and_Garden/Windows/desc.html to see if you can identify the category it best fits. :moz:
octet Posted January 21, 2004 Author Posted January 21, 2004 Ooops. My mistake... I just resubmitted today to the same category, should I wait before I will submit again to: http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Industries/Manufacturing/Consumer_Products/Home_Decor/ ? Or I can reapply today?
leer Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 No need. It has been moved to the cat you mention and is now awaiting review there. No need to resubmit.
octet Posted January 21, 2004 Author Posted January 21, 2004 Thank you for your help guys. Now that is what I call HELP. Best wishes, best regards.

jimnoble Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 It's still awaiting review there. Somebody will come along and edit there eventually and they're unlikely to decline it if it's fully working and usable. I can only advise patience. It's probably also eligible for listing within our Enfield category.

octet Posted April 20, 2004 Author Posted April 20, 2004 http://www.flamingoblinds.co.uk Status please...
octet Posted May 20, 2004 Author Posted May 20, 2004 http://www.flamingoblinds.co.uk - Status November, December, January, February, March, April, May 20 - today... Should it take THAT long? Can anyone look for it, please?
spectregunner Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Yes, and it can take even longer. You could mention all twelve months twice and still be waiting. No change in status, I'm, afraid.
octet Posted July 22, 2004 Author Posted July 22, 2004 two months later... any changes? thank you adrian
leer Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 I am afraid that since your last visit we have ammended the forum guidelines to request that six month elapse after the initial/last status check. Therefore if you do not see the site listed by 20th November then please do pop by and see how things are going.
octet Posted November 15, 2004 Author Posted November 15, 2004 www.flamingoblinds.co.uk Hello again, leer I was thinking how far with the submission... Any updates, after these first 12 months? Regards, Adrian
jimnoble Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 As leer said,Therefore if you do not see the site listed by 20th November then please do pop by and see how things are going.
octet Posted November 15, 2004 Author Posted November 15, 2004 OH, I'm sorry GOD! I was 5 days earlier. Thanks, I'll come by, later. Hallelujah! P.S. I was trying to copy your phlegmatic style in replying. Hope I did good. I'm still learning, so please forgive me if I'm not as good as you two, guys!
jimnoble Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Well that provoked me into looking at your website You might like to additionally submit it to Enfield. Don't even think about submitting http://www.blinds-wise.com/ . That you've spread your website over multiple domain names doesn't entitle it to extra listings. I didn't understand " More preused and more effective than traditional signwriting." in http://www.flamingoblinds.co.uk/site_m,van-lettering_page.html . You're selling second hand lettering?
octet Posted November 15, 2004 Author Posted November 15, 2004 Now we speak! Thank you. Blinds-Wise it is our online-shop. It an unique website, not present anywhere else, Jim. Blinds-Wise sells only Luxaflex branded blinds, Flamingo Blinds sells only through the showroom, also from other suppliers. On Blinds-Wise you can actually buy the blinds through the secure shopping system. Meanwhile, Flamingo Blinds presents our company, the showroom, all the other products that are NOT available on the Blinds-Wise website, like awnings, canopies, shutters, etc. The actual Flamingo Blinds you see now live, was published last week, the version submitted about 12 months ago is now located "here". I have got that spelling mistake amended. Thank you very much. Regards, Adrian
jimnoble Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 From what you say, Flamingo Blinds can only be listed in Enfield. That was some spelling mistake .
bobrat Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 You have chosen to put your on-line shop in a different URL, and there is nothing wrong with doing that. But in essence it's just part of your flamingo web site, and linked directly from it. Therefore from our point of view, it's the same web site and does not get a separate listing. To give an extreme example, you could have made flamingo into multiple web sites, one for Awnings, one for Wallpaper, etc. and then asked for a separate listing for each one, on the basis that they are separate business lines.
octet Posted November 15, 2004 Author Posted November 15, 2004 I will give you some examples that will clear my submission, hopefully: 1. Hillary Blinds a). the site about the company b). the site that sells online DMOZ Links: Both present HERE: 2. Blinds2go a). all type of blinds - online shop b). Wooden Blinds only (Have a look to the contact details, they belong to the same company.) DMOZ Links: Both present HERE:
djdeeds Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Thank you for pointing out those errors. The corrections should show on the public side in a few days.
octet Posted November 15, 2004 Author Posted November 15, 2004 In this case, my submission as an editor to that category should be aproved:) Thanks. Meanwhile, do we have a status for Flamingo Blinds now, assuming that Blinds-Wise.com won't be added... Thank you for your help, I'll look closer into the listings, it might be still others in the same situation. Adrian
