It seems to be the end of an era. Well done to every single person involved. It is a shame the person who pulled the plug did not see the potential of a directory based system. Edited by TheAlphaWeb

Additionally , Dmoz was only a domain. The directory as everyone knows it is still alive, but unable to take submissions and applications until it is rehoused on another domain with an editor interface. This takes time and we were given only a couple of weeks notice to move a directory with millions of links and a complicated editor interface. The directory and editors will be back soon.

Comes a shock to me though I hadn't been active in here for years, damn shame so much work went into it but things change, just something else from the past that was important and is no longer.
