I have a question regarding my company's website which is listed in the DMOZ directory of: Family/Parenting/Resources/ but for some reason is not listed in the corresponding Google Directory. When I try to submit my site to the Google directory it brings me to the DMOZ "submit a site page". How do I go about getting my site included in the Google Directory if it is already included in DMOZ?

My site has been listed in DMOZ for over a year but has never shown up in the Google Directory, any ideas?

Thank you,

-Fishman

Google is just one of many "downstream" users of DMOZ data, and volunteer DMOZ editors have absolutely no control over when (or if) such users update their data.

You will need to take that up with Google. :)

And you are still not listed?

DMOZ is nearly impossible to get into any more for most sites. It's a Dinosaur.

Find the category in the directory and click on "Suggest a Site". You'll need a Yahoo Account. And it's also nearly impossible to get listed for free anymore.

What a strange thing to say, when the ODP contains over 4.5 million websites, all of them listed for free. ;)

You'll need a Yahoo Account.

You do not need a Yahoo account to suggest a site to dmoz.org.

I know that the ODP websites is sourced from google search result.

False. However, when editors are trying to build out an under represented category, they source candidate websites from all over the place, which might include Google.

So if you want be listed in ODP. you should first get your website listed in google.
