RyanDD Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Hi, I would like to report a bug when contacting an editor using the online form. Once you submit there is a cgi error. Thank you Ryan
jimnoble Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Yes we know. Despite that, the message usually gets through. AOL, who own and run our servers, are aware of the issue and are investigating.
meinhard Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 i also got an "Error: No such editor ..." today when trying to contact an editor via the link provided on the editor profile. are the people "who own and run" your servers still investigating? together with the email bouncing at editor application this is a pretty frustrating experience. and it looks like it is months now that ensuring smooth operation of such a basic, yet mission critical service as messaging is being neglected by the infrastructure owners. what's going on there? should such a great free project as dmoz not also be empowered to fix the servers that transport their content themselves?
Meta pvgool Posted October 22, 2009 Meta Posted October 22, 2009 i also got an "Error: No such editor ..." today when trying to contact an editor via the link provided on the editor profile. This is not a real error as it works as designed. When you get that message it means that this editor is not active at this moment. His/her name may still be shown on any of the categories but because the editor did not do any editing work in the last 4 months (s)he is inactivated. These inactive editors can not be contacted. The other issue is being worked on. But this is only something that can be done by the limited number of AOL staff involved with DMOZ. And they are busy with other DMOZ and non-DMOZ stuff. I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
