Feature suggestion: Regional as attribute instead of as category

 

Several times I have been looking for something on dmoz and have wished that I could essentially do a cross section of category X region.

 

Many business listings are either in the appropriate class in the main directory

OR they are in a regional directory. I have found it difficult to combine these to effectively find "All greenhouse equipment suppliers in the province of Alberta"

 

I would suggest that the regional categories be abolished, and that instead the regional information becomes just an attribute of the main listing. This should be a relatively easy action not requiring human intervention on individual listings.

 

In this way, people could use the regional information as a limiting filter when appropriate.

This is something we have discussed internaly also and this geo-tagging of sites is something the editors would like to see but unluckely isn't very easy to realise.
