A while back I submitted my site <url removed> to the Kids Bands category.

In browsing around Dmoz tonight I found the 'Kids and Teens: Pre-School: Television: Playhouse Disney' cateogry which is a much better fit.

Should I not worry about it or resubmit? Since neither category has an editor I'm not sure the person reviewing the site would realize that it is a Playhouse Disney TV show and move it on their own.

AndyLL,

Thank you for asking.

Please review the guidelines for suggesting sites to the Kids and Teens Open Directory carefully, here: How to Add a Site, as well as any specific guidelines for the category itself. If your site (which I have not reviewed) meets the criteria, which include: no commercial content, designed for use by kids and teens, is not 'under construction', etc., then you may suggest it once more to the most appropriate category.

Including a note to the editor in brackets, such as [prev sugg to category-link in error] explaining the previous suggestion will help.

Note: editors are quite good at determining the content and correct placement of websites. When in doubt, we do poll each other for recommendations.

Additionally, the fact that there is no listed editor for a particular category, means nothing. As has been pointed out, there are hundreds of editors with access to categories throughout the directory.

Hope that helps.

It is impossible to guess why a site isn't listed in the directory without getting into specific URL's, which we don't do on this forum. It could be that the site doesn't fit under the Guidelines or that the simply no one has yet to look at the suggestion. This is probably a good opportunity to remind readers about the New Official DMOZ Blog (archive) where the latest installment is coincidentally Why Hasn't My Site Been Accepted Into DMOZ? (archive). *The opinions I offer are my own and may not represent the opinions of Curlie.org or other editors.*

It can take anywhere from two hours to several years for a site review to take place.

I do not respond to private messages requesting site status checks.
