The directory closed as AOL no longer wished to support the project. The editing community are working on a replacement directory; meanwhile the last dataset (RDF) is published here, but is not editable.
Normally, any site suggestions made to DMOZ will be carried over to the new directory.
OMG! DMOZ was my go to for YEARS! All of the links were excellent and not filled with advertising. This directory was invaluable in providing supportive services for myself and my children all throughout school.....wow
Thank you. We will be back though. We have to rebrand and it's taking a while to organise the data but as soon as we are back (under a different name) we will let everyone know here.
I have been surprised that DMOZ was closed. But it's good to hear that something is being done to bring back the service. Wish you success the organizers.
I wrote DMOZ into my final year project report and I created a simple web directory prototype called link2there take my hat off to DMOZ.
I was soo sad that DMOZ closed. too bad.
