Hello, I'm new here. I have a problem with the description. In my case I Just can't use the NOODP tag, because the registered URL and description at the directory is a redirect: [urls REMOVED] [urls REMOVED] is the registered URL at DMOZ. I sent the resubmission form two times to fix it, but I've had no return. This is harming the relation between my agency and the client :-( Can someone Help me? Thanks

Hello, in the http://www.dmoz.org/Home/Consumer_Information/Office/ section there is a site entitled, "The Office Guide." I clicked on their site looking for more information. There seems to be some type of virus on this page. As I was clicking through the site a window popped up and displayed a screen that said it was checking my hard drive for a virus. I lost control of my computer and had to shut it down. This is not a quality site and should be removed immediately from the ODP, as this compromises the entire integrity of the ODP.

Good Morning, I reported an Abuse report 5 weeks ago and nobody has responded to my request. I tried again this morning and my Report was not accepted, I just get a "oops, an error occurred. - Go back message... Someone has illegally updated my listing with some irrelevant crap and I notified dmoz 5 weeks ago and nothing has been done. Google is now using the irrelevant crap in my Search Engine Listing and my online presence of 8 years is vanishing. I sent an email to staff@dmoz.org though it gets returned with a User unknown message. Can someone assist as otherwise, if Dmoz is completely unregulated and users/editors are allowed to do what they want without…

Could someone explain to me why one of the web sites I had on dmoz directory for around 8- 9 years has suddenly disappeared from the directory…? it was a directory for electricians throughout the uk I had checked the site up time and there has been no disruption there, it meet the guidelines has not been updated within the last 6mths and hosted on the same server, even with the same registar...? so a bit puzzled,

Hi, 2 Things: 1. I assume you know this already, but in case you don't the "update listing" link is broken - it kicks users to a 500 Internal Server Error page. I tested in 2 different categories. 2. I discovered this when trying to notify DMOZ that our site was hacked and we were moving it to fix the problem. The site was subsequently removed (yesterday). My company purchased its URL from someone else a year ago, and twice I have submitted requests to have the details for the URL updated, but both times no changes were put through. The website is <url removed> My last request was submitted July 5th, 2010 (and the first was several months before that). Can someone please tell me what the issue is that is preventing the updates from being put through? Thanks!

At Genesis Publications we are thrilled to have our website listed on the DMOZ directory. For the past 35 years Genesis has published limited edition books primarily about art, music & photography (a few sports & historical titles too). At present, the website appears in the "Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: Business and Economy: Publishing" category. Genesis has not published books about business or economics, so the Genesis listing would be better suited for, say, the "Business: Publishing and Printing: Publishing: Books: Arts" section. Hello all, I am new to this forum and to DMOZ. I've been trying to correct a horribly outdated and poorly placed DMOZ listing for a client for 2 months now with no response, not update. I'll not reference the site nor category as I don't want to be seen as attacking the editors for this category. By the same token, it is frustrating waiting for the update. How long should one wait for a suggested update to be made? How hard should one push the editors to make updates and changes?

What i should do? It's so unfair spending money and time for a website and get rejected because the editor considers you as a competitor. I've used the abuse report form but nothing happened. Never got a reply from someone else, only from the editor.

I was attempting to reach out to a couple of category editors and when I try to fill out the form, I get a Proxy Error (the proxy server could not handle the request). I've tried it from two different computers on different networks and get the same error. And I get the same error while trying to reach two different editors. Temporary problem, or something else? Please let me know and thanks for your help!

Hi, My site is listed in DMOZ and the info that was entered by the editor shows up in Google searches. The information is inaccurate and badly punctuated and reflects badly on my site. When I try to 'update URL' in the category it is apparently listed under I get the 'this site is not listed under this category' message. What can I do?

Recently I've noticed my high quality site along with several other quality sites were removed by a new editor that now promoted his own websites which are direct competitors of my'n and the other removed, its a shame that this is the quality of editors around here, his execuse for removing my site and adding his competitors sites was that I should refer to Dmoz guidelines, while his sites and dishonest behavior is not in agreement with any of Dmoz guidelines... Dmoz is very slow...I've waited over a year to get listed and now some AH remove my quality site and promote his own sites and there's nothing I can do about it... I've filed a complain but nothing happened …

It was suggested I post a message here after posting a message in another forum. I have noticed that in recent weeks a link to my business has been removed from Business/Financial_Services/Freelancer-Contractor_Services/United_Kingdom/. I was wondering whether there was any particular reason for this as no changes have been made to the website and the business continues to provide an umbrella payroll service for IT contractors. I've operated the business with my business partner for a number of years and provide a similar service to the other sites which continue to be listed. I wanted to suggest an updated description for <URL deleted> The current description is: One of Hawaii's oldest monthly magazines. Website primarily offers subscription information. I'd suggest to change to: One of Hawaii's oldest monthly magazine. Website offers current and past articles and features covered in the magazine and new blogs and web-only content. Archived issues date back to 2004. If an editor could take a look and see if the new description fits a little better. Subscription information is on there, but all of the content in the magazine is available on the site for free. Thanks!
