I've suggested the websites for my businesses randomly over the last ~10 years or so and they never get listed. Multiple year breaks between suggesting. What gives? Legitimate companies that have been established over 10 years ago. American WaterSports South Beach Jet ski rentals and tours in Miami Beach Florida. www com American WaterSports Coconut Grove Boat rentals and tours in Miami Florida. www us

Hi, I am not sure what I am doing wrong and have tried unsuccessfully to submit a site for a long time. Was hoping to get some feedback and guidance to get this progressed. I am trying to submit a site to the category: dmoz.org/Regional/Oceania/Australia/Business_and_Economy/Legal_Services/ I have tried re-submitting multiple times: 19 Nov 2015, 18 Dec 2015, 8 Feb 2016, 24 May 16, 22 Jun 16, 19 Jul 16, 6 Sep 16 and 1 Feb 17. The business I work for is not a law firm but provides legal services (terms and conditions drafting) and paralegal services in the marketing compliance area. We also refer legal work to a partner law firm when required. SITE URL: TITLE…

Hi there... just a quick query or two: Is it usual practice for a site suggestion to be removed/deleted once a editor has reviewed it? If so (understanding it would be impossible for a 'suggester' know for sure if it had been deleted), is it then reasonable to re-suggest it? The reason I ask is that a site I suggested was visited by an editor but not added to the directory, whilst a number of other (US) sites were. I think I first suggested it around 8 or 9 years ago and then again maybe 3 years ago following advice here. My suggestion is a pretty good company site (also very informative with a great many technical information pages which other equivalent sites l…

Hi there, I just submitted my site for the first time, and there was no confirmation window or anything that appeared after clicking "Submit." It simply brought me back to the very same page with all of my information that I filled out in the fields. The only thing that changed was the verification code portion. I clicked the "Submit button" again, and the same thing happened. Should I expect a confirmation of submission of some kind, or did it work? I fear it might be perceived as a multiple submission, when I was trying to troubleshoot. Please advise.

How long should I expect to wait before my site is reviewed for the category https://www.dmoz.org/Adult/Computers/Internet/Chats_and_Forums/ Will I be notified of a decision? Editors here have been very responsive to moving sites to and from this particular category when I have suggested changes but its been a month since my submission and I've heard nothing. Will I hear a yes or a no once a decision has been made?

Hello, I have been waiting for approval for over a year for our business site. Our website has every information necessary on the home page, one of the leading businesses in the sector, the submission was done in the correct category (only one category), with a brief sentence explaining what we do. We've been waiting for a year and I'm definitely sure that we will be waiting for another 5 years. Yet a %100 fake website with no information gets listed 1 month after the website was opened. (search for trackershack) I hope you're proud of yourselves for providing such a good "open directory". And I'm praying for the day that google lowers DMOZ's value to ZERO. …

I recently suggested my website to be registered on DMOZ. Unfortunately I used the www version which redirects to the non-www version. So I think the submission was made in error. Should I re-suggest the site using the direct url, or is it best to leave it alone? Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I've been told my site can't be included in the NON-adult section http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Chat/Web-Based/Chat_Rooms/ because: "Whilst you have chat rooms intended to attract surfers to talk about sex it belongs in the adult part of the directory." I have a chat room for adults because grown people do not want to chat with 13 year olds. I explicitly ask people looking for a raunchy chat to go elsewhere. There are also sites listed in this category which have explicit rooms (I've just reported them in the quality control section with an info graphic.) Can there be no distinction between kid chat and adult chat? Must I just say everyone is welcome?

I am trying to get a one very high quality site listed [Business/Financial Services/Offshore Services] since the past 5 years, still no luck. First i submitted this site 5 years ago, now again i just i tried my luck submitting the link today (will keep trying J). I am aware it is enough to submit the link just once to dmoz for review. Do submitted links have expiry time limit until they are resubmitted for review again?

I know there is a sticky that states this isn't the place to request status updates, but I do have a question. I submitted a website today, which I am 100% certain was submitted to the correct category, but the last edit in the category was 3 months ago. Is that normal or is it possible the section has been abandoned? Thanks in advance!

Hey DMOZ folks, I run a clipart shop (URL removed per guidelines) and have just submitted to the two clipart categories I've found in your listings, under Computer Graphics clipart and Stock Illustration clipart. These are very specific categories, and perfectly appropriate for my niche as you can tell by my URL. However I realized that both of my descriptions have a single all-caps word in there, and I see your guidelines suggest avoiding all caps. I'd like to resubmit with a better description: "Customizable cartoon and comic character clipart for commercial use!" ... but I don't want to annoy you folks by submitting 4 times in one day, unless it's OK to do th…
