I have a client http://www.cartech.com who's home page is already listed within the directory, however we've been working with the sub-pages of the site and trying to get those into the directory. Each of the sub-pages are different divisions of the company, each providing very different industrial services. (I have listed the urls for those sub-pages below.) After no sucess in getting the individual pages listed in categories without editors, I spoke with an editor of a broader business category. In his opinion the sub-pages were not unique enough and suggested that we request a change in description to the home page listing (which is found here: http://dmoz.org/Busi…

A couple of months back I posted my site in Computers > Consultants > Databases. I waited, sent an internal email, then resubmitted but to a more precise category - Regional > Europe > United Kingdom > Business and Economy > Computers > Software - thinking I may have entered too broad a category (even though much of my business is conducted across the web). Could some kind soul let me know how the submission is progressing. Thanks.

I posted this in SUBMISSIONS but there was not one reply! So... too dumb an idea to bother with, already been covered many times, too difficult, too..... Here goes again. Every single submitter of a site wants to know at the very least - WHEN. With the many thousands of editors that help ODP I imagine there is a lot of choping and changing of editor/category/sites to review. I understand the logistics must be horrendous. However, if some of the very many bright heads got together and worked out a model whereby a resonable guesstimate of 'time to review' could be applied to a category based on past experience and other factors and then this information could be …

Monthly, for I think two or three months, I have submitted updates for two websites in Health: Weight Loss. I posted here before and it was suggested that I write a nice e-mail to the category editor. I did with no result. Is there a FAQ somewhere telling a person what to do when no action is taken on an update they submit? I think this would be helpful. Maybe the editor's on vacation. How long should I wait? (I don't know what to do next, anyway.) Should I re-submit? A further complication is that my website has changed some more and I have an even new description to submit. How can we know when a site is rejected?

Hello! This forum is such a great tool, Thanks to all of you. I just wish to know how long should we wait before resubmitting a site (www.samui-holiday.com) in a category which has no editor (Regional: Asia: Thailand: Provinces: Surat Thani: Koh Samui). Hello, I'm doing a site for this guy that does karaoke show in the Austin, Texas area ( http://www.karaokebyrjandassociates.com/ ), and I submitted this site twice, so far, to the Texas regional category for karaoke. It's been around a couple of months since the last submission. I sent a message to "Wise Guy", the listed editor for this category and I never got any reply. I submitted www.batterymart.com to the Top: Shopping: Consumer Electronics: Batteries category in early January 2002. I've since resubmitted about every 3 weeks. I've e-mailed the editor of the Consumer Electronics category and I've sent e-mails to the staff@dmoz.org with no response. There is no editor for the “batteries” category. We’ve never been listed. Our site does have unique content that other sites listed do not have. We are also listed in Yahoo and Looksmart. Can you help me find out why we haven’t been listed? Thanks.

I occasionally change the descritions of my websites to reflect changes in their content. Sometimes I even change the titles. In March I submitted two updates but changes in the Directory have not taken place. In general, how long should we wait before we submit a change request for the second time? Or should we? Many thanks for ODP. My websites are found through a great number of search engines because of ODP. Peter
