I have submitted our contact lenses site to http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Health/Vision/Contact_Lenses/ but I know that this category has not changed for a long time. I was wondering if our chances of a quick inclusion in the ODP would improve if I submitted to http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Health_and_Beauty/Vision/ due to the fact that it is a smaller category, and we are based in the UK? The http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Health/Vision/ category and all categories beneath it are missing an editor, so I can imagine that the backlog is substantial. I believe our site was down when a editor viewed it. I noticed in my logs this morning that it was viewed/hit by /editors/editcat-unrev.cgi cat=Computers/Internet/Web_Design[...] This site is already listed in the “regional” section but we were waiting for the listing in http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Designers/S/ The site is SEO Ohio Web Design. This is Xavi from JBE Joier - LLadro from Spain. We had been submitted in "Recreation: Collecting: Figurines: Lladro" category during more than a year and now few months ago we had been dropped. We can not understand why, we haven't done any change in our website. We've been trying to be submitted again and it seems impossible. Is there anybody who could help us??? Hi, We have been trying since March, 2000 to get www.dentalreferral.com indexed in ODP. We have followed through from time-to-time with emails to editors, etc. but have never had a response. The site was significantly upgraded a little over a year ago, and I don't know if any old notes from the original site submission are holding it back or if there is another reason it has not been indexed. Any help is appreciated.

I have been trying to get my site www.starwardcruises.com listed for over a year. No success. I've been trying under recreation-travel-speciality travel-cruises-travel agents. There is no editor for this category. I tried emailing the editor at the next higher level but received no answer. I do link to an off-site data base but this is only as a service to the user; many cruise sites use the same service.

I've been trying since last summer to submit a few wedding sites ( www.rexcraft.com, www.annswedding.com, www.now-and-forever.com etc.) to the Shopping: Weddings: Invitations and Announcements category without any luck. I have resubmitted and even mailed the category editors repeatedly, but I do not get any response. These are very popular sites for brides, as they all carry their own direct mail catalog, but I have not had any luck getting them listed. Any information on what I am doing wrong, or advice on how to get these sites included would be appreciated.

Three times in the past two years I tried to become an editor in a category that I am certainly most qualified . My qualifications include that I designed and submitted the first website in Orlando, Florida in October 1994. In fact, we were listed in Yahoo when the original designers were still university students. Our company generates 65 % of our sales on-line. Hi all, This is such an informative and practical site. I've been able to find a lot of info, but didn't immediately find an answer to my question(s). Anyway, I've been trying to list my site (www.ascleanedontv.com) on DMOZ since December of last year. I first submitted on Dec 7th, 2001, then again on Dec 21st, 2001, February 10th, 2002, and finally on March 29th, 2002. The submission dates my be off by one or two days. I would appreciate some feedback on what has happened to our submissions. We have submitted on a number of occasions (of course we waited between them - approximately 30 days each time). The Editor has changed a couple of times, so I understand that there is probably a backlog. If we were doing something wrong it would be great to hear so that we can correct our error. Hi All! I'm truly perplexed! I've been trying to submit a site (www.aberva.com) for over fifteen months and the site still has not been added. I've even chatted with an editor via ICQ and still nothing. I've tried submitting to categories higher up in the chain that had editors, but still, the site has not been added. I don't know what to do anymore. I think that I've pretty much exhausted all options at this point. Does anyone have any other piece of advice besides the, "keep submitting every three weeks" deal? I don't want to come across as angry, just frustrated. Any ideas?

I submitted a site a couple weeks ago to the 'Shopping: Health: Pharmacy: Viagra' category. The category hadn't appeared to have been updated until very recently and was wondering... Since this category was just updated and I haven't seen my site listed, does this mean my site got rejected?

Hello all, Great forum! I read a few posts and saw that it's possible to be listed in multiple categories. I've e-mailed this inquiry before and did not receive an answer either time so I thought this may be the place to ask. I have a site (www.sensationalteas.com) that sells about half loose tea and the other half is Chinese and Japanese teapots and accessories. But I'm only able to list in one place so I chose 'tea'. But that's only half of what we offer. Can I also list in teapots or the like? I definitely don't want to upset anyone by going against the rules. Thanks for a great public forum! Mary
