Hi, I have already posted to the ODP forum (http://forums.dmoz.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=911310), where jophan asked to post here. Well, I had to create a new rz profile to do this... My original rz nickname is "onusbaum", and not onusbaum_2. Since I changed my rz password 2 days ago, I am not able to post in the forum or to edit my rz profile anymore. Hi, is it a big problem, to change the date format in this forum? This forum get read all over the world and there are a lot of different date formats. I think the most common is the ISO date: YYYY-MM-DD. Up to now 03-02-2004 could be the 3rd of February or the 2nd of March. Writing 2004-03-02 makes it clear. Additionally I think it is a good thing, to append the time zone: either UTC or +00:00. I would appreciate if these things could someone change. <typo fixed>

My site http://www.mundodoingles.com has been listed in ODP since December 26 (25?), according to FAQ it should take about 2 days for it to come up in ODP Internal Search, but it hasn't yet. My category editor (World/Português/Regional/América do Sul/Brasil/Educação/Auxílio nos Estudos) told me it's really uncommon and there must have been some bug with the Search spider, which we both hoped would soon be solved. Yet, now it's been 14 days (and counting) without my site being found by ODP Internal Search. My worries are: a- Without being indexed by the internal search can it still be indexed by Google? b- Has anybody else had this kind of problem or I've been …

I was wondering if it might be possible to move the Romanian section one level up, to /World, since it's been on top of its category for a long time now (it currently has 148 posts and 4,556 views). Besides, there are many users claiming that it's difficult to find the Romanian thread on RZ forums. Thank you.

At the moment, site suggestion and update requests are not working properly. When trying to suggest a site or to submit an Update request, you are redirected to the editor server and asked for a login. Further reports of occurences of this bug are not needed, enough examples have already been provided. Our technical staf is informed, and hopefully the bug will be dealt with soon. [EDITED LATER:] It appears that this bug affects all public side CGI forms including "Become an editor" and several others. Dear DMOZ Team: The strangest thing happened today. I searched DMOZ for my website, which has been listed on the DMOZ directory for 1+ years. I am referring to Medical Assistant Net at http://www.medicalassistant.net. Naturally, I used search term: "medicalassistant.net" and DMOZ delivered the result (1 match). But when I went checked the directory, which I was directed to, DMOZ=> Health: Professions: Medical Assistant, there are (now) only 10 web sites listed (last time there were 15), and Medicalassistant.net is NO LONGER among them on that page. I'm trying to submit a site to this section of the dmoz directory: http://dmoz.org/Business/Arts_and_Entertainment/Tools_and_Equipment/Broadcast/ However, when I click on the add url link at the top of the screen, its asking me for an editor login and password - I've also tried to submit to other various sections, and I finally was able to fill out the site submission form. When I clicked the Submit My Site button, it again asked me for a login / password for editor.dmoz.org. Can anyone help me further?

How about having a feature on DMOZ that allows people to view the status of their submissions. A very well thought out way to this: When a site is added for review, the email field is optional. Now all that is needed is another section added on to DMOZ for people to check the status of their submissions. They would go to that section, and type their email address in, a random password would be generated and sent to them. Since multiple urls can be submitted by a single email address, and I'm assuming the dmoz DB would have email, url in the same row. You could add the password field into the table also, and when the password is generated it will add the password to all…

The folowing versions are down (at least now =2004-12-05 , 22:55 UTC) - http://dmoz.org/World/Espa%f1ol/ - http://dmoz.org/World/Fran%e7ais/ There is on some languages a link to Wikipedia in the section "Visit our sister sites". In some languages the are linking to the wrong language version (EN) of Wikipedia. In some there is no link like the Japanese.

Browsing around the directory I can load pages at the moment, but if I refresh/reload pages to ensure I am looking at the latest version, the pages just remain loading and a fresh page isn't delivered. Is dmoz.org in the middle of a big site update right now or is there some other problem? It may be my browser settings, the problem only seems to be happening in Firefox, not IE. But I haven't had this problem with Firefox/dmoz before and other sites are reloading just fine.

I just had my application approved today, I logeed in. Then very soon after this, while I was looking through the dashboard, it asked me for my username/password again. Whe I try to log back in now, I always get an error telling me that my login is incorrect. I've tried using the lost password form, and the password that was in the email was the one I had been trying to login with.

Hi, I have recommendations for two new features. I don't know how large the effort is, but maybe it is not too much. First, I think the forum is a bit impersonal because there is no field to add his name to the profile. At least I found none. Second, in the profile is a point "ODP Editorname". Bride Mozilla and friends? Most dmoz categories have a little running dragon/lizard creature at the bottom right hand corner, but I spotted a cute one titled Bride Mozilla on this category: http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Home_and_Garden/Kitchen_and_Dining/Tableware/ I assume it is because some of the listings on that page offer wedding gifts and bridal registries. To make it easy, I copied the part I'm discussing from the sticky in the site submission status forum. The only part that I don't see any info for is... If a person does not receive submission status after requesting it, how long should a person wait before bumping the thread to the top? I've recently fallen into this category (no response at all) and it's been almost a month. Appending this info to the instruction might prove helpful in reducing the amount of people prematurely bumping their threads (including myself). It seems very odd that i've made a submission request and its magically not there. I've done some other stuff in the past to, which happens to magically disappear too. Is there no way of providing a submission or update request receipt by email? Maybe the script needs to be reexamined. Also maybe certain categories should be given higher priority than others on the basis of keyword requests. Mabye find out the top 1000 keywords typed into search engines and prioroties that way? At least that way you don't disappoint the millions of searchers in those specific types of site. Is it worth resubmitting my site? Or am i just wasting my time with dmoz now, and maybe jus…

No matter how I try (20+ tries already), I cannot log in as an editor. I know I'm one, I even get the password sent to me, the password is exactly what I remember it to be but it still doesn't let me log in. I cannot sent reinstatement for because it says my account is already active. What can I do?
