Has my German Editor Application reached server?

Hello, I'm Petra from Germany and I tried to send my application again today (petrasonnenschein), answered the email I got and now just want to ask, if it has reached this time, 'cause my last application from January is a bit to long ago (I think it hasn't reached maybe, or was I rejected? haven't got an email about it if so <img src="/images/icons/frown.gif" alt="" /> )

So please, just give me a short answer regarding the yes or no my application is there for reviewment now and hey, please excuse my "non-perfect-english" , I think I know why I want to edit in German <img src="/images/icons/grin.gif" alt="" />

Now today I got a response - I was not accepted, but no reason given :-(

Please, can somebody tell me what's exactly wrong? I love to write and the category I was chosing is a German category with 20 listings and personal homepages about rabbits (i love them), I have written a long explanation about my reasons to become an editor and really love to become one, so please can somebody help me out? <img src="/images/icons/confused.gif" alt="" />

vielen Dank, dass Sie beim Open Directory Project (ODP) als
freiwilliger Editor mitarbeiten möchten. Nach sorgfältigem Prüfen
haben wir uns jedoch entschieden, Ihre Anmeldung zu diesem
Zeitpunkt nicht anzunehmen.
Die häufigsten Gründe für die einer Ablehnung einer Bewerbung sind:

* Unvollständige Anmeldung: Es wurden nicht alle notwendigen Felder
im Anmelde-Formular ausgefüllt. Eventuell wurde das Interesse im
gewählten Themengebiet nicht erläutert, oder es wurden keine
Websites für die Kategorie aufgeführt.

* Falsche Rechtschreibung und Grammatik.

* Die Websites sind für die Wunsch-Kategorie des Editors ungeeignet.
Die Sites sind entweder zu allgemein oder zu speziell für die Kategorie,
gehören in einen ganz anderen Teil des Katalogs oder sind nicht
informativ genug.

* Die Websites sind aufgrund ihrer Sprache nicht für die gewählte
Kategorie geeignet:
Alle nicht-englischen Sites sind in der Kategorie 'World' zu finden;
alle deutschsprachigen Sites sollen in "World/Deutsch" aufgenommen
werden. Wenn sie also für Kategorien in World/Deutsch nur
englischsprachige Sites vorschlagen, wird ihre Bewerbung nicht
akzeptiert. Auch andere Bewerbungen, die URLs in Sprachen
vorschlagen, die nicht für die Kategorie geeignet sind, werden
nicht angenommen.

* Unzureichende Offenheit über persönliche Verbindungen mit
im ODP gelisteten Websites bzw. Websites, die für die Aufnahme
im ODP geeignet sind.

* Titel und Beschreibungen vorgeschlagener Websites (und andere
übermittelte Informationen) sind subjektiv und werbend. Die
Editoren des ODP sollen nicht Websites miteinander vergleichen
oder Site-Bewertungen verfassen, sondern Websites und ihren Inhalt
objektiv und unvoreingenommen erläutern.

* Werbung in eigener Sache: Bewerbungen, die den Eindruck
vermitteln, dass der Kandidat vor allem an der Werbung für seine
eigenen Websites interessiert ist, werden abgelehnt. Das ODP ist
kein Marketing-Tool und eine Bewerbung sollte nicht deshalb
erfolgen, um die Aufnahme eigener Sites in das ODP zu beeinflussen.
Bewerber, deren Motivation rein im Promotionbereich liegt, bitten
wir von einer Mitarbeit im ODP abzusehen.
Editoren, die das ODP in unangemessener Weise zu Werbezwecken
für ihre eigenen Sites nutzen, werden umgehend aus dem ODP
ausgeschlossen.

Da wir täglich eine Vielzahl von Anmeldungen erhalten, können wir
leider nicht auf jede Bewerbung persönlich antworten. Falls Ihrer
Ablehnung ein zusätzlicher Kommentar von einem Meta-Editor
hinzugefügt wurde, finden Sie diesen im unteren Bereich 'Bemerkungen'.

Wir danken Ihnen, für Ihre Bereitschaft beim ODP mitzumachen.
Vielleicht ergibt sich zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt eine Möglichkeit,
dass Sie Ihre Kenntnisse beim ODP einbringen.

Since there are no specific remarks ("Bemerkungen") given in that email, the reason your application was rejected has to be one or several of the standard reasons listed before.

If that helps you to write another application (hope this won't deter you from applying again), some of the most common reasons for rejecting apps (which are given in the email you had, if I'm correct) are:[list] [*]typos and/or grammar errors are present in the examples given[*]examples are not suited to that category, or are already listed in the same tree[/list:u]
The purpose of having applicants provide examples is to make sure they can write correctly in the language of the category and they have enough understanding of the ontology not to list unsuitable sites.

I looked again,

"typos and/or grammar errors are present in the examples given" could not be the problem, all is right there and I checked with Word even also (not found any mistakes, I think my grammar & typography is good 'cause I love to write)

So it has to be the second reason, I will try to find some new sites and maybe you can find out from the meta who rejected the application, what the problem was (or give me the name, so I can start a communication with him regarding this if he wants). I really want to learn, so I will try again & even again if again rejected <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have sent an application now again, I worked through it carefully after your answer and hopefully this time it will be enough to at least give me a chance in the small category I was chosing to prove I can be an usefull member of the editor-community.

(and even if not to get a reason I can follow after for rejection - but I pray this will not be necessary)

And after being accepted I started editing, now after 8hours I have cleaned up my category I think <img src="/images/icons/ooo.gif" alt="" /> and I have asked other editors to have a look if I have done it right, maybe you want to do the same.
