Are a lot of people waiting for their listing to be approved? Is there a faster way? maybe becoming a volunteer editor to edit your own listing is an option? Any advice how we can be on this directory? Other directories don't seem to take this long...

No, there is not.
Not even becoming an editor as DMOZ does not accept people who are only interested in listing their own website.

I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.

What pvgool said... there are certainly loads of people who have misunderstood the ODP's purpose and aims.
We are trying to build a comprehensive and useful directory, and we appreciate the help of the public in suggesting useful sites for editors to include.
There is much more to editing than simply listing websites; obviously the more editors we have, the more sites will end up being listed and organized ;)
If you feel you could edit in an unbiased way, and not use your editing status to promote other activities, by all means apply.

All opinions expressed are my own, and do not necessarily represent the official point of view of the ODP.
I do not respond to private messages requesting site status checks or preferential treatment.
