Hi and welcome to the forum... To have increased status here, you have to be an editor in the ODP.  
Just to make it clear that applying to be an editor to increase status here, although being an interesting concept, would not be an acceptable reason.

I tried to be an editor of an unrelated category to my business but I got refused. Seem i didn’t understand category of Regional: Oceania: Australia: Health: Alternative: Massage Therapy and Bodywork, I put chiropractic and acupuncture hyperlinks application for Suggested URL
Then I got lessoned in terms and conditions for my suggested URL.
“Incidentally, please stop suggesting that we list deeplinks of <URL Removed>”
So after about one year of waiting for listing I’ve decided to be more active here. Been through the DMOZ directory http://www.dmoz.org/...imization_Firms
up to H and  sent freestyler all the dead links. It’s taken a couple of hours so far..
So now I’m going to study the DMOZ terms and condition then study the mission statement.
Some real guidance on submissions would be greatly appreciated. I’m feeling really noob. Like some kind of outcast. If someone would be kind enough to spell out the category for my website and guild me so I don’t offend this directory I’d appreciate it.

We don't comment on specific sites or editor applications in these forums, so this is general...
The additional reviewer comments sent (if any) with a denied application are intended to help the applicant with a future application (unless "please do not apply again" or similar)...
Choosing the three sites and describing them is meant as a challenge, giving an insight into the understanding of editing guidelines, category's scope, spelling, etc.  
Like with suggesting sites to a category, it helps enormously if the chosen sites are actually listable there (also not already listed)...
Our application denial mails are normally multiple use, so more than one subject mentionned may be an issue - always best to go over all the possibilities step by step.

Question? If I resubmit my site now I’ve sorted the issue, would that be considered spamming?

Have you suggested your website once (or more) in the past?
If yes, there is no reason to suggest it again.
It is either listed, rejected or still waiting review.
A new suggestion will not change it current or future status.
The only thing it will do is give more work to the editors.
And we all know they already have enough to do.

So I applied and got "Thank you for your interest in becoming an Open Directory Project editor.
After careful review, we have decided not to approve your application..." no comment was made...
I checked the listings in the category I wanted to edit and which had a few dead links and some sites has changed so much it was unrelated.

I've goggled and it seems it is a pretty difficult to get listed on DMOZ and almost as difficult if you want to be an editor.
Why is that? Has Open Directory Editorial Administration created an exclusive boys club whereas DMOZ is going out of date with lots of dead links.
I came to DMOZ with a spring in my step as I believe in community values.

There are always comments given when an application is rejected.
Most of the time we only need to provide one of the standard lists of issues (it is the task of the person applying to read and understand thiose reasosn, this is much like the tasks an editor will have to do everyday and can be seen as part of the application proces)
Sometimes we add a specific comment. This will only be done when we have something special to tell the applicant.

As DMOZ is not a listing service there can not be something as "difficult to be listed".
Becoming an editor is very easy. Just write an application that is complete and honest and provide 3 sample websites with decent titles and descriptions. Everybody should be able to do such a simple task. But from experience I know that many seem not able, either they are not honest or they do not read the guidelines about how to write titles and descriptions.

The only advise I can give is to carefully read the email you received, read the guidelines, understand what you did wrong and write a better application to try again. We are not looking for perfection, just a decent understanding of the guidelines.

Just wanted to comment on this aspect of your previous post. If you browse up a category level, you'll see that chiropractic links and acupuncture links have their own categories and so wouldn't be listed under Massage Therapy and Bodywork. It's also good to remember that, in Regional, generally only sites with a national focus (e.g. national organizations or purely informational sites) or businesses with locations in multiple states (or online-only businesses) would be listed at the country level. Everything else would be listed at the appropriate lower geographic level, which is usually the locality-level for businesses.
