Over the past several months AOL has been working hard on installing new hardware and editing software for the DMOZ editor community. Installing a completely new editing interface is a large task and bugs are inevitable in any new software installation.

In order to join/reinstate editors to the best possible environment the Admins of DMOZ decided to suspend creations of new editor accounts and reinstatement of existing accounts, until major bugs were resolved.

We are pleased to announce that we have reached a point where we can resume joining and reinstating editors. As you can imagine we have a backlog of several 1000 applications that will need to be processed, so we ask for your patience while we work on this large task.

Catmod and Meta editors who process applications are volunteers and so it is impossible to say how long it will take to process individual applications, but please be assured that we are working hard to clear those that are awaiting review.
