Reason for edit: We don't discuss specific websites here so URLs neither needed nor welcomed.

Websites can get delisted for a number of reasons. Amongst them:

- website was not available during a period of time -> the website is moved from public view for an editor to look at the issue
- the content of the website changed and does not meat our guidelines anymore -> it is removed
- the content has changed but still is listable only not in the old category -> the site is moved to a new category and will be reviewed there by an editor

If you've suggested the site, then you have given the editors all the help you can give.

Next time an editor is working in that neighborhood, your help will be available for them to use, and they'll make of it what they can. And if the suggestion is a good one, THAT will help the SURFERS. Which is what we're here to do.

We have no idea. It'll happen when some volunteer volunteers to do it.

I prefer to answer questions in the forum and ignore uninvited PMs from non-editors.

If you've suggested the site, you've given us all the information we use when deciding what sites to review first. No additional information would be helpful, and it really wouldn't be fair to other websites to take other information into consideration.

See my previous answer for possible reasons why a website might get unlisted and what will happen in these cases.

Maybe you missed this text on http://www.dmoz.org/add.html

No i readed carefully, thank you, but i think the reason is competition ,i know some people they have own websites and they are editors in dmoz, so they dont like to see us here, and they are delisting our websites..that what i think !
but anyway im sure there is allso editors they have selftrust and they are helpfull like you guys..
sincerely

Such statements always tell me more about the person complaining than about the people being accused.
Don't think that while you would behave in such a dishonest way other people will do the same.

Wow, what a way to jump on the poor guy for expressing his concerns about possible abuse of editing power within Dmoz. If I go out and buy locks for my house, does that make me a burglar?

To paraphrase your own statement, when a number of folks are expressing their concerns about possible abuse and are immediately met with responses like this, it tends to tell more about the person responding in this way than the people expressing their concerns.

Perhaps you were just having a bad day but that's really pretty sad.

My two cents,

- Phil
